This is a set of 27 really nicely illustrated, big (4x7"), informative flash cards, with a glossy laminated finish. On one side is a picture of the dinosaur and the back side contains interesting facts and (ahem..parents, listen up) the phonetic pronounciation for each one (unless you ALREADY know how to pronounce "Caudipteryx Zoui"). The dinosaurs on the cards are a nice mix of the usual suspects (T-rex, Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, etc.), with many that aren't quite as well known (Tapejara, Chindesaurus, Alamosaurus, etc.). By the way, of those three I just mentioned, which one is believed to be the first dinosaur to live in North America? And what state was the Alamosaurus first discovered? No, it wasn't Texas! You'll have to buy the deck to find out!!
